Tingle
Watch now: Zac Haynes' facing monsters in Western Australia
Words by Zac Haynes
Tingle is mainly shot over the last 2 years but starts off from my first ever time going to The Right in 2011 with Alfy Cater, he took me when I was 15 then some footage from a few earlier sessions, mainly just getting smoked and learning the wave which I'm still doing haha. The Film really means a lot as my life has revolved around this area and the conditions that make the good days. It's hard to put into words what it means, nearly 15 years of chasing the perfect day. From nearly drowning to getting the wave of your life, the highs and lows are incredible but that's what keeps me wanting more and enjoying those sessions with good friends.
The premieres were awesome and it was amazing to see people enjoying the movie that we had put so much time into. It was also incredibly scary putting it out there for people to see and judge for something that means so much. Non the less it was cool to see it on the big screen and hear positive feedback from everyone.
The name Tingle comes from the Red Tingle tree which is endemic to the area, also inspired from the hostel we would always stay in which was named "Tingle all over" who was run by a one of a kind character "Sherree" who unfortunately passed away at the end of last year and since the hostel has been closed down, an end of an era. so I guess the name is a bit of a tribute to Sherree in a way as she always looked after us and put a smile on everyone's face.
