C-Bar 1.0 – Functional and Straightforward

The C-Bar 1.0 is ION’s foundational spreader bar. It offers a clean, simple interface with a durable aluminum hook and a stable fit. For riders who want an easy, dependable option that integrates seamlessly with ION harnesses, this bar delivers exactly that.


Spectre Bar – Higher stability and seamless force distribution

The Spectre Bar upgrades your connection with a carbon-infused base plate, aluminum hook, and integrated soft padding. Spectre flaps reduce bar twisting and keep the load centered, while the quick release buckles on both sides make attaching and removing the bar quick—useful for travel or frequent swapping. It’s the right choice if you want a more refined, ergonomic fit.

Every ION spreader bar is made from corrosion-resistant materials and shaped for consistent performance in salt water and heavy load conditions. Padding and pressure distribution vary by model, letting you pick the level of structure or mobility you prefer.

Windsurf & kite spreader bar FAQs

The C-Bar 1.0 is simple and functional, offering a basic aluminum hook option and straightforward fit.
The Spectre Bar adds a carbon-infused base plate, soft padding, anti-twist flaps, and easier handling through quick release buckles on both sides. It provides a more secure, ergonomic fit with higher stability under load.

Both use a carbon-reinforced baseplate, padding, and Spectre flaps.

Spectre Bar 2 has been redesigned and now features quick-release buckles on both sides for even easier operation.

Choose a fixed hook if you want direct response for freeride, freestyle, or big air.
Choose a sliding rope if you prioritize freedom of movement for wave riding or foiling.

Feed the webbing straps on the harness through the bar’s side loops, then tighten both sides evenly.
To remove the bar, release tension on the buckle and slide the straps back out.

All ION spreader bars fit multiple ION harness models as long as the width matches. Check the recommended sizing on each product page.

Because spreader bars rely on brand-specific shapes and mounting systems, ION bars fit best with ION harnesses and may not work with harnesses from other manufacturers.

Both use aluminum hooks, but kite bars also come in a sliding rope version for riders who need more mobility. Windsurf bars stick to fixed hooks for stable load transfer.
