Our new protection ingredient RE ZRO® makes the ARCON more breathable, sustainable and offers the highest protection on the market.
The ARCON x RE ZRO® pad offers Level 2 impact protection, and while only a maximum impact force of 20Kn can be detected during the testing. the ION x RE ZRO® pad recorded ca 10Kn. The protection pad is fully biodegradable. Special ingredients are added during the manufacturing process of the RE ZRO® materials. At the end of life when a RE ZRO® product is disposed of in a landfill – a microbe rich and oxygen depleted environment – microbes and fungi colonize the pad at a molecular level. They feast on the carbon of the plastic until eventually only biogas and biomass remains; RE turning to ZERO. This biodegradation process is estimated to 3 to 5 years, whereas traditional synthetic products, such as a plastic water bottle, take 400 to 500 of years.

ABOUT ION

ION is a brand run by passionate people, whose first love was watersports. Launched back in 2004, we initially focused on wetsuits & neoprene products for the international surf, kite and wakeboard scene. ION's unique combination of high quality products wrapped in a progressive style and design found fans all over the world. Since 2013 we are taking the same approach to the slopes – because our second, big love has always been mountain biking.

In the end, we just love to shred. No matter what kind of board or bike we ride. This mindset is reflected in our brand philosophy: ION is about challenging yourself, experiencing nature and feeling the force of gravity.
