Designed, built and tested by Nico Vink. The ARCON HD Pro Chest Protector is Nico Vink’s first pro model with ION and is built to ride, based on over 20 years of experience, from racing to big mountain freeriding. The complete protector – both the back and the chest protector – are CE level 2-certified with ION x RE ZRO® specific components. RE ZRO® Power Slide Caps are strategically placed on the front and back for extra impact and sliding properties, all shaped to retain freedom of movement and stay ultra-light. Both the chest and back sections are 3D pre-shaped, offering a new kind of personalised fit and are extremely comfortable to use under or on top of a jersey. A unique 360° AC_cooling effect is created by keeping the unique RE ZRO® shape open and adding large ventilation openings in the RE ZRO® Powder Slide Caps, giving it an almost imperceptible feel while riding. With SyncBody elastic straps, the ARCON HD Pro Chest Protector wraps comfortably around any rider. They can be easily customised in length and position, while the one-buckle closure makes it easy for any rider to put the protector on and take it off quickly. All RE ZRO® components are designed for ease of recycling and enhanced by TOTO-TOA® to ensure biodegradability* should they end up in landfill.
*RE ZRO® materials have been independently tested for biodegradability in accordance with
ASTMD5511-18 & ISO 15985 : 2014. For full terms see

Super sweet protector
I got this protector a while ago and I really like it. While it’s not super straightforward to find the perfect fit due to the multiple adjustability options, once you play around with it enough, it fits like a glove. What I especially like about the protector is that it's quite breathable—you don't sweat much underneath it. I’m deducting one star because the straps can sometimes rub against your neck, which can be a bit bothersome. However, once I found my preferred strap length and tightness, this issue went away.
I love it
Mega Protektor, super angenehm zum tragen auch für mich als Frau, das hab ich zuvor bei andern Marken nicht gehabt. Ich bin großer Fan davon schon seit meiner ersten Session damit.

I've been using the protector a few times now and I'm more than happy with it. After adjusting the straps it sits perfectly without restricting freedom of movement. Material feels very comfortable and is pretty breathable compared to other chest/back protectors. Also looks sick! I've tried quite a few protectors and this is by far the best one. Especially considering that it also offers LVL 2 protection on the chest part, where most other protectors are smaller and offer only LVL 1. For sizing: I'm 179 and tried on both sizes. While both sizes fit perfectly after some adjustment the bigger size offers more lower back protection (backpiece is just longer). I ultimately opted for the S/M though, mostly for style reasons. Clear recommendation!
Big protection without feeling bulky
It's pretty much a bullet-proof vest, but it does not feel like one - you put it on & forget about it. Looks great if you wanna show it off, but barely visible if you put a shirt over!
Tested!!
I’m not someone who usually reviews products but I got one of these for myself and my wife and while we hoped we’d never need it, my wife had a pretty huge crash last weekend. Going deep on a step up, she knew she was coming in too fast and tried to scrub speed off as she was hitting the lip, she ended rotating backwards, passing the landing on a 7 meter gap step up, landing on the back wheel and looping out directly to full impact directly on her back. Luckily she had this on, she had zero damage! The only marks on her were some friction burns from her sports bra underneath, her legs that didn’t get the direct impact like her back had grazes and she tore her trousers, her back that took the hit was totally perfect and not even bruising in the later days! Seriously impressed! It was a scary unusual crash but she walked away with totally fine. We even rode the rest of the day. I’m seriously impressed with how this performed, we also have the Arcon knee pads which we haven’t impacted tested yet ( hopefully we won’t need too!) but they are super comfy to all day pedal in with downhill protection. Last season we had the Poc VPD torso and comparing the two we are happy we made the switch, this looked more technical on the materials and I guess now we have field tested it! We fully recommend this product! Thanks guys!
